Outreach Mission Opportunities

SFPC volunteers work diligently beside others in the community and provide financial support for many. Perhaps the church’s greatest contribution lies in the hearts and minds of its members, as they seek to deepen their Christian faith in service to their neighbors in Frankfort and in the world.

Outreach – our largest and most active group – offers opportunities for skilled and unskilled labor(cleaning, painting, furniture assembly, carpentry, etc.) for short-term community, regional and international mission projects, and preparation and cleanup for scheduled community meals.

Here are some of the organizations SFPC supports:
Local missions
Access Soup Kitchen/Men’s Shelter
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
Franklin County Emergency Food Pantry
Franklin County Senior Center
Franklin County Women’s Shelter
Habitat for Humanity
King’s Daughters Apartments
ROSM (Resource Office for Social Ministries)
Simon House
Sunshine Center
The Kings Center

Regional and National missions
Bellewood Children’s centers
Buckhorn Children’s Center
Morris Fork

International missions
Luta and Jeremy Garbat-Welch as our PCUSA mission co-workers in Malawi
Hope for Tomorrow Children’s home in Guatemala
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to help people in need in Ukraine and around the world

Choir

Does music stir your soul? Our choir practices each Wednesday evening at 7:00 and adds a great deal to our 10:55 Sunday morning worship service.

Deacons

The members of the board of deacons provide care for members, collecting and disbursing certain benevolent monies to specific people or causes, and overseeing the buildings and property of the congregation.

Elders

Ruling Elders, together with teaching elders (ministers), exercise leadership, government, spiritual discernment, and discipline and have responsibilities for the life of a congregation as well as the whole church, including ecumenical relationships.

SFPC can now accept donations through our affiliation with the Presbyterian Foundation. When you click the GIVE button above, you will go to a secure server where you can safely make a payment.
